The rules for using QuizTiles to create, host, and play trivia games.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of quiztiles.com and related services offered by QuizTiles ("QuizTiles," "we," "us," or "our"), including our website, game builder, live play and buzzer features, templates, AI tools, accounts, and related content (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use QuizTiles on behalf of a school, company, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.

1. What QuizTiles Is

QuizTiles is an online platform for creating and hosting Jeopardy-style trivia games for classrooms, team events, family game nights, and similar uses. Features may include game building, templates, live hosting, mobile buzzers, scoring, themes, password-protected games, AI-assisted question generation, and a public Explore library.

QuizTiles is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jeopardy!, Sony Pictures Entertainment, or any related trademark owners. "Jeopardy-style" describes a familiar quiz format only.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent, guardian, or authorized school staff, as applicable.
  • Educators and organizations are responsible for obtaining any required parental or institutional consent when students or minors use the Service.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • You may sign in with email/password or a supported third-party provider (such as Google). Third-party sign-in is also subject to that provider's terms.

Players may join live games with a display name or nickname without creating a full QuizTiles account. Hosts remain responsible for how they share join links and for content shown during sessions they run.

3. Plans, Billing, and Trials

We offer free and paid plans (for example Free, Pro, and School/Team). Current features, limits, and prices are described on our Pricing page and may change over time.

  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current rate unless you cancel before the renewal date through your account billing settings or by contacting us.
  • Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on QuizTiles servers.
  • Taxes may apply based on your location and will be shown where required.
  • Unless required by law or stated otherwise at purchase, fees are non-refundable for partial billing periods. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us promptly.
  • Free trials or promotional access, if offered, may convert to a paid plan unless cancelled before the trial ends, as disclosed at signup.
  • We may change plan features or pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated plan terms.

4. Your Content

"User Content" means games, categories, questions, answers, media, themes, branding, display names, and any other material you upload, create, or share through the Service.

  • You retain ownership of your User Content.
  • You grant QuizTiles a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and otherwise use your User Content solely to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service (for example showing public games in Explore, serving shared play links, and generating previews).
  • You represent that you have all rights needed to submit User Content and that it does not infringe others' rights or violate law.
  • If you make a game public or share a link, other people may view and play that content. Choose privacy settings (including passwords, where available) carefully.
  • We may remove or restrict User Content that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is unlawful, harmful, or abusive.

5. AI Features

Some plans include AI-assisted tools (for example question or board generation). AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or inappropriate for your audience. You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated content before using it in class, at work, or publicly. Do not rely on AI output as professional, legal, medical, or academic advice.

You must not use AI features to generate unlawful, infringing, or abusive content. We may rate-limit, suspend, or modify AI features to protect the Service and other users.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal, fraudulent, or harmful
  • Upload or share content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or that exploits or endangers minors
  • Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy, or other rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
  • Interfere with the Service (including scraping at abusive rates, overloading servers, spreading malware, or reverse engineering except where allowed by law)
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Use the Service to spam, phish, or send unsolicited commercial messages
  • Bypass plan limits, security controls, or access features you are not entitled to
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as a competing product without our written permission

We may investigate violations and suspend or terminate access when we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

7. Live Games, Buzzers, and Hosting

  • Hosts control game sessions they start, including who receives join links and what content is shown.
  • Players should use appropriate display names. Hosts may remove disruptive players from sessions they manage.
  • Real-time features depend on internet connectivity and third-party infrastructure. Brief interruptions may occur.
  • You are responsible for complying with school, workplace, and event policies when hosting games (including screen sharing on Zoom, Teams, or similar tools).

8. Our Intellectual Property

The Service — including software, design, branding, logos, documentation, and QuizTiles-created templates — is owned by QuizTiles or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights needed to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our platform code or branding without prior written permission, except for your own User Content.

9. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on QuizTiles infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: (a) identification of the work, (b) the URL or location of the allegedly infringing material, (c) your contact information, (d) a statement of good-faith belief that use is not authorized, and (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act. We may remove or disable access to material and, where appropriate, terminate repeat infringers.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may integrate with or link to third parties (for example Google sign-in, payment processors, analytics, hosting, AI providers, or video-meeting tools you use separately). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services we do not control.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUIZTILES DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that content (including AI-generated content) will meet your needs or be accurate.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUIZTILES AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO QUIZTILES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless QuizTiles and its owners, employees, and partners from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

15. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required for security or legal reasons, or if we discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

16. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice when appropriate. Continued use after the effective date of changes means you accept the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where QuizTiles principally operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue for disputes that cannot be resolved informally, subject to any non-waivable rights you may have.

Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

18. General

  • If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms presented at purchase, are the entire agreement between you and QuizTiles regarding the Service.
